Registering for Courses

Session I: May 17-June 25, 2010
Session II: June 28-August 6, 2010

Some courses at Tisch School of the Arts may begin or end within these dates. Please refer to the courses for specific dates and meeting times. Summer 2010 courses will be announced soon.

Registration

NYU Students

Register for summer just as you would for fall and spring courses using the Albert system. As always, speak to your adviser prior to registration.

Non-NYU Students

Registration begins in February 2010.

Attending summer courses at NYU is a registration process rather than an admissions process, and the University’s Office of Special Sessions coordinates all registration matters. Simply download the Summer in New York Registration Form, complete all required information, and return to the Office of Special Sessions by the appropriate deadline. The form and registration deadlines will be available soon.

Non-U.S. Citizens

NYU does not issue I-20 forms or student visas in the summer since summer session courses do not constitute a full course of study. Therefore, you must already hold or be able to acquire a visa that will allow you to take courses in the United States. Please contact the US Consulate in your home country for additional information. Unfortunately, due to tighter restrictions, some foreign students may not be able to obtain the necessary visa to attend NYU summer courses.

Classes are taught in English; it is essential that students understand and be able to communicate in English. (Students who wish to come to NYU to improve their mastery of English during the summer should contact the American Language Institute, 212-998-7040.)

Mail your registration form to

NYU Office of Special Sessions
110 East 14th Street, Lower Level
New York, NY, 10003
Or fax to: (212) 995-4642

Tuition

The cost of each course is based on a per-point fee. In addition to tuition, students are expected to pay applicable registration, service, and lab fees. Tuition and fees for summer 2010 will be announced soon.

NYU does not provide scholarships or financial aid to visiting students.

Summer Housing

Living in an NYU residence hall offers you a safe and convenient home while you are taking classes or completing an internship in New York City. Locations vary around NYU’s main campus in the city’s famous Greenwich Village. Prices normally range from $75 to $250 per week for students registered in credit courses. Students who choose to register for noncredit courses are offered a slightly higher associate rate. For complete details, please visit www.nyu.edu/summer/housing.
