Preparations for Summer Study Abroad with Tisch Special Programs

Once you are accepted for summer semesters, the following steps will prepare and guide you through the necessary paperwork required for your semester abroad.

1. Confirmation

Confirm your participation with the Tisch Special Programs Admissions Office. If you have not done this please contact Tisch Admissions at 212-998-1512 or email at tisch.special.admissions@nyu.edu

2. Passport Requirements

All study abroad programs require students to have a passport. Review the passport requirements for Tisch Special Programs.

3. Visa Requirements

Certain Fall/Spring programs require a student visa for participation in the program. The admissions office will help you with the required visa paperwork. However, you should review the visa requirements for your program.

4. Orientation

Attending orientation for a Tisch Special Programs is mandatory. Staff from Student Services at Tisch Special Programs will send you details about the event via e-mail. Special arrangements will be made for students who do not live in New York and are not able to attend orientation.

5.  Registration

Student Services at Tisch Special Programs will process all registration for your summer academic program. Please make sure to clear your schedule and drop any courses to facilitate registration. All summer programs have set registration, so a form is not necessary.

6. Housing

All students are required to live in NYU housing.

7. Additional Forms

All students traveling through NYU study abroad programs are required to submit various forms of information prior to departure. You should use the same log-in and password that you created when you originally applied to the program. All mandatory forms are located under "Application Forms" and can be accessed here. Please follow the four steps to complete all forms.

The medical history form should be completed by a physician of your choice and returned to Sarah Alvarez at the address listed on this page.

8. Update your NYUHome Account

NYU students, please check your NYU e-mail account regularly. We will be sending you important information concerning your program through this account.  Non-NYU students will receive an email with instructions on how to set up a NYUHome account once your registration has been processed.
