When does Spring at Tisch run?

The program runs from January 23 - May 7, 2012.top

Why should I take part in Spring at Tisch?

The program offers students the opportunity to receive training that they may not be able to find at their home schools. In past years, students have used Spring at Tisch to complement their course of study at their home school, to explore an area of interest outside of their major, or to investigate a new major. The courses offered through Spring at Tisch are the same courses offered to our own degree students, and are taught by the same faculty of working artists. Visiting students are enrolled in the same classes as Tisch students.top

Will I need to be enrolled in a college or university to participate in Spring at Tisch?

Yes. Students must be pursuing an undergraduate degree full-time at another college or university, and must be a sophomore, junior, or senior during the 2011-2012 academic year. College freshman and students graduating in December 2011 are not eligible for the program. Students on leave or lapsed students who left in good standing will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.top

Our Film Production track is a workshop environment designed to accommodate both novice and beginning students. It is not necessary that your field of study be arts-related. However, applicants to the Acting program should have a minimum of one year of actor training. Photography program applicants must have two semesters of foundation courses.

Will the credits go towards my degree/program requirements at my home school?

As all Tisch courses are fully accredited, you will receive credit for your course work. However, it is up to your home school to determine those points will be applied toward your degree. You should speak to your advisor to help you select courses that will fulfill degree requirements.  Also, it will be necessary to ask permission of your home school to attend NYU, even if you are on a leave. Attending another school while matriculated without receiving permission is grounds for dismissal at many schools.
