Filmmaking in Prague
Program dates to be announced.
Prague is one of Europe’s most ancient yet rapidly changing capitals. At the crossroads of Europe, Prague is a city of rare delights with more than 20 museums and 200 galleries, castles, ancient churches, palaces, and gardens. Our summer program in Prague gives advanced film students and those with an interest in dramatic writing an opportunity to expand their craft and experience their art in this emerging film capital of Europe.
The program was developed in collaboration with FAMU, one of the premier film schools in Europe, where several generations of Czech and Slovak filmmakers, including all famous artists of the Czech New Wave of the ‘60s were educated. Course work is supplemented by field trips to regions such as Moravia and Bohemia. Students register for both courses for a total of 8 points. Courses are held at FAMU.
Arts-related activities and field trips, such as contemporary film or performance festivals, visits to exhibits, or historic landmarks, are often incorporated into the program.
Students live at Kolej Petrská, a dormitory providing rooms with kitchenettes and private baths. Breakfast is served each morning.
