Passport Requirements
If you are accepted into our program, you must have a valid passport before we can confirm your participation.
Note: Many countries now require student visas. Students must have a valid passport in order to obtain a visa.
U.S. Passport Holders
In preparation for study abroad, please check that your passport is valid for at least three months after the program ending date. Also, the passport must have a minimum of two blank pages available for the visa stamp. If your passport has expired or if you do not have a passport, you will find the following links to be helpful. The U.S. Department of State may take up to six weeks to process your passports, although a two-week rush service is available. Please plan accordingly.

Non-U.S. Passport Holders
Non-U.S. passport holders should contact their home country’s consulate for information about passports. Passport and visa processing times for non-U.S. passport holders may take longer than U.S. so early action is suggested.
Visa Requirements
Student visas are now required for U.S. Nationals to study in the following locations:
- Havana, Cuba
- Florence, Italy
- Accra, Ghana
- London, England
- Prague, Czech Republic
- Shangai, China

Note: Consulate visa requirements are subject to change without prior notice. The Office of Special Programs will coordinate and guide students through the visa process at the appointed time.
