Students enroll in one of two programs: Writing Florence or Commedia dell’Arte. The courses within these programs are designed to complement each other, enabling students to integrate knowledge and firsthand experience of Florence into their writing. Students also enjoy field trips in and around Florence in the picturesque Tuscan countryside.
La Pietra, a magnificent 15th-century, 57-acre estate, serves as NYU’s center for study in Florence. Located near the center of Florence, La Pietra is celebrated for its early Renaissance art collection and formal gardens. Inside the villa, students choose from a variety of living arrangements. Single, double, triple, and multi-person rooms are available. Meals are also provided. Classes are held in one of five historic villas on the estate.
