SPRING 2009
H34.1056 • 8 POINTS.
Instructor: Michael West.
Prerequisite: Introduction to Dramatic and Visual Writing or equivalent.
Students select two additional companion courses to complete a 16-point program.
Irish theatre boasts some of the finest writing in the world. In a unique intimate setting, this is a chance to develop a full-length play, inspired by the best practice of contemporary Irish and international playwrights.
Through master classes, individual tutorials, and group sessions, students take part in an exchange of dramaturgical and staging ideas designed to stimulate new approaches to the craft. The program hosts a staged reading of all or part of students’ plays by professional actors.
