Learn the Best Practices of Filmmaking

Tisch School of the Arts, the school that trained the filmmakers of "Brokeback Mountain, "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (Ang Lee), "The Departed", "Good Fellas" (Martin Scorsese), "The Sixth Sense" (M. Night Shyamalan), "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone", "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets", (Chris Columbus), "No Country for Old Men", "Fargo"(Joel Coen),  "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind" (Charles Kaufman), "World Trade Center", "JFK", and "Platoon" (Oliver Stone), invites you to study filmmaking at our new campus, New York University Tisch School of the Arts Asia.

Tisch Asia offers non-credit filmmaking courses at its new campus in Singapore beginning May 2008. The Singapore program is based on the New York program, which is entering its sixth year. Faculty from Tisch School of the Arts in New York as well as a number of the school’s successful alumni filmmakers will be in residence in Singapore to deliver coursework. Students may enroll for individual courses, or choose to complete a series of courses leading to professional certification.

Six-Week Training Programs

Individuals may choose to enroll in one or both six-week programs.

Sight and Sound Film Production
Writing for the Screen

Participants may choose to enroll in as few or as many courses as they wish. Professional certification is awarded to individuals who successfully complete 'Sight and Sound Film Production'(H99.0043), 'Color Sync Workshop'(H99.1040), and 'Writing for the Screen' (H99.1000) within two successive summers and earn a C or better grade point average. Individuals are expected to have met all prerequisites for each course prior to enrollment. Requests for course substitutions will be addressed on a case by case basis.NYU students interested in taking the 6-week courses for credit, please contact Tisch Asia administration for registration and tuition information.

Funding Available

Students who would like to secure funding for these programs should check with their local governments for financial support. When Tisch Asia learns of new opportunities, more information will be posted here.

Professional Certification in Film Production
