Prerequisites: Familiarity with digital image capture and Final Cut Pro is helpful but not required.

Based in Florence, Italy, (home to some of the greatest art & artists of the Renaissance), this digital non-linear workshop is tailored for ambitious students. Using original concepts, students write, develop, produce, shoot and edit 12-25 short indie-type films from 15 seconds to a minute in length. Along with a basic understanding of filmmaking, students will also receive hands-on training in software applications and will collaborate with each other through every phase of production using tools such as Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, Photoshop, and DVD Studio Pro. This collection of innovative work will be the student's own reel of short films and students will be able to present this work to an audience during the classes end of semester event, "The Dante Awards."

Note: This course carries a lab fee of $565 and a program and activities fee of $560.
